Abdulwase’ Al-Shamsi, Taiz Governorate Undersecretary for Development Affairs, inspected on Sunday the progress of work in producing agricultural seedlings at Wurzan Nursery in Khadir District.
Undersecretary Al-Shamsi, along with Taiz Agriculture Sector officials Eng. Abdullah Al-Jundi and Eng. Hamoud Al-Rassas, and the Director of the Agricultural Financing Unit in the governorate, Hassan Al-Rashidi, received a briefing from specialists at Wurzan Nursery on the operational mechanism of the nursery and the types of seedlings available.
The visitors reviewed the production process, the available seedling varieties, and their conditions, while providing important observations aimed at enhancing the nursery’s work and improving production levels. They praised the efforts made in rehabilitating the nursery and strengthening its role in boosting agricultural output.
They emphasized the importance of developing an implementation plan to distribute the available guava, coffee, and sidr seedlings to districts and cooperative associations according to each district’s suitability, with replacements to be made based on the nursery’s production plan.
Additionally, the visitors, accompanied by Wurzan Model Nursery Director Muhayub Al-Shara’abi, inspected several model guava farms in the district. They were briefed on the challenges facing farmers in these areas and the appropriate interventions to address them, encouraging the expansion of diverse crop cultivation.
