Gaza - Saba:
Israeli forces stormed the "Handala" Ship, belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, on Saturday evening, heading to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Scenes from the live broadcast aired by the "Handala" showed Israeli naval forces storming the ship after Israeli military boats approached it, before the live broadcast was cut off.
The fate of the activists on board remains unknown.
An hour ago, the International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza said that the "Handala" ship was approaching the Gaza Strip very closely, but was preparing for the possibility of being intercepted by the Israeli Navy.
The committee wrote in a post on Twitter: "We have passed the last point reached by the Madeleine ship by more than 100 km, and we are very close to the Gaza Strip, which is besieged and starved by the Zionist occupation."
In another post, it stated that "the ship is preparing for the possibility of being intercepted" by the Israeli Navy.
The committee called for pressure to allow the Freedom Flotilla to reach Gaza, carrying symbolic life-saving aid.Hours ago, the committee announced that the "Handala" ship was continuing its journey to Gaza, and that it was now only 70 miles from the Strip's shores.
It is worth noting that cases of malnutrition and famine are arriving at hospitals in Gaza at any moment. 900,000 children in Gaza are suffering from hunger, 70,000 of whom have entered a state of malnutrition.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five doubled between March and June as a result of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 59,733 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 144,477 others. This remains a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulance and rescue crews.
