Gaza - Saba:
The Government Media Office in Gaza said last night that the Israeli enemy committed a new crime of maritime piracy by storming the "Handala" ship, calling on the world to provide international protection for humanitarian convoys.
In a press statement, the media office condemned the crime of the enemy forces storming the "Handala" solidarity ship while it was sailing in international waters as part of a humanitarian mission to break the unjust blockade on the Gaza Strip.
It emphasized that this blatant aggression represents a flagrant violation of international law and maritime navigation rules, and reaffirms once again that the enemy acts as a thuggish force outside the law, targeting every humanitarian initiative seeking to rescue more than 2.4 million starving Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The office held the enemy fully responsible for the safety of the participants on board the ship, extending its greetings and appreciation to them for their efforts to break the blockade and for their humanity and noble feelings toward the besieged.
The Government Media Office called on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and international organizations to take an urgent and decisive stance against this aggression and to work to ensure international protection for humanitarian convoys.
