English Clubs Spend €1.87 Billion in Summer Transfer Window So Far

London - Saba

Premier League clubs have spent €1.87 billion (£1.63 billion) on player signings since the summer transfer window opened in early June, according to Transfermarkt. The traditional “Big Six” clubs—Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham—accounted for over €1.14 billion of that total.

Reigning champions Liverpool lead the spending table with €307.69 million, including deals for Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez (€46.67M), and Jeremie Frimpong (€40M). This marks a dramatic shift from last season’s low-spending window.

Chelsea, who finished fourth last season, followed with over €242 million in signings, including João Pedro, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Liam Delap.

Arsenal, second in the league for three straight seasons, spent upwards of €229 million, headlined by Martin Zubimendi (€68.62M) and Noni Madueke (€57.18M).

Manchester City closed their business early, spending €145.25 million on Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Aït-Nouri, and Rayan Cherki.

Despite a disastrous 15th-place finish, Manchester United spent €152.68 million, mostly on attackers Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Tottenham, 17th in the table but Europa League winners, spent €140 million under new manager Thomas Frank. Nearly half of that went to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham (€62.90M), with Mathys Tel’s permanent deal costing €34.31 million.
