Hajjah - Saba
A meeting was held in Sana’a to address the electricity and water project needs in Hajjah Governorate. Attendees included Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Adel Badr, Governor Hilal Al-Sufi, and senior officials from relevant agencies.
They reviewed ongoing and stalled projects, including the second phase of the Al-Miftah electricity project, electricity expansion in Abbs, and pending water initiatives overseen by the Rural Water Projects Authority.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the ministry’s commitment to completing stalled projects and prioritizing essential services in Hajjah, aligning with directives from the revolutionary leadership and the National Salvation Government. He urged collective effort to overcome obstacles and serve public interest.
Governor Al-Sufi praised the ministry’s support and highlighted current challenges, stressing the importance of delivering vital services like water, electricity, and sanitation. The Electricity Corporation outlined plans to expand power grids and deploy local generation solutions to address shortages caused by attacks on infrastructure. A national renewable energy program is also being prepared.
The Rural Water Authority reviewed funding strategies and ongoing coordination with emergency development units. They committed to ensuring sustainability and direct supervision of projects across districts.
