Gaza - Saba:
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron's intention to recognize the Palestinian state at the upcoming United Nations session.
In a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) on Saturday, the Front said, "This position constitutes an important step that will contribute to establishing a balanced solution to the conflict in the region, guaranteeing our Palestinian people their right to freedom, self-determination, and a fully sovereign, independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders with Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and property from which they were displaced since 1948."
The Democratic Front called on "European countries that have not yet recognized the Palestinian state and our people's right to self-determination on their land to follow the example of France and other European countries before it, thus strengthening the European role in shaping the future of our region and promoting the logic of solutions based on respect for and implementation of UN resolutions, international conventions, and the principles of international law and international humanitarian law."
The Front once again emphasized the importance of the statement signed by more than 25 European countries regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, including the call to halt the Israeli war, end the blockade, provide the Strip with unconditional humanitarian and life-saving aid, and take punitive measures against the enemy state to compel it to comply with international positions calling for an end to hostilities, the policy of starvation, thirst, and deprivation of medicine and food, or to implement shameful projects to develop methods of genocide, such as the falsely called "Humanitarian City" in the southern Gaza Strip.
