The judiciary building in the city of Zahedan in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran, was subjected to a terrorist attack on Saturday morning, Iranian media reported, citing the Iranian Judicial Information Center.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted the center as saying in a statement: "Unknown gunmen attacked the justice building in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan on Saturday morning, and the clashes have now ended."
The statement added: "Several people were injured in the incident, and emergency personnel were present at the scene."
The statement indicated that a number of the injured were removed from the judiciary with the help of relief workers and transported to medical centers by ambulance. Visitors and employees are leaving the scene with the assistance of security and law enforcement forces.
The statement concluded: "Security and law enforcement forces are present around the justice building, and some have entered the building. There are no reports of accurate statistics on the number of people injured or any potential damage."
