Moscow - Saba:
An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck the Kamchatka region in Russia's Far East on Saturday.
The Kamchatka Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences stated that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 77.1 kilometers and occurred 171 kilometers from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
There have been no reports of material damage or injuries so far, and residents have not reported feeling the tremors.
Several days ago, a series of earthquakes struck the Kamchatka Peninsula. Ten tremors were recorded in just an hour and a half, the strongest of which reached 7.4 on the Richter scale.
Various areas of the peninsula felt the tremors, and tsunami warnings were issued, but no tsunami occurred. The magnitude of the earthquakes ranged between 5.0 and 7.4.
