Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called for every effort to be made to protect innocent lives and end the suffering and hunger of the people of Gaza.
In a statement on Friday, Albanese described the situation in Gaza as a "humanitarian catastrophe."
"Israel's blocking of aid and the killing of civilians, including children, seeking water and food cannot be ignored or defended," he said.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupying forces have been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the operation.
