Sana’a - SABA:
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered and light rain over the mountainous highlands and eastern coasts, along with hot to extremely hot weather in coastal and desert regions during the next 24 hours.
According to the center’s weather bulletin, the forecast indicates generally clear to partly cloudy skies, with the possibility of scattered rain—possibly accompanied by thunder—in parts of Sa’ada, ‘Amran, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, al-Dhale’, Taiz, and the highlands of al-Mahrah, Shabwa, Lahj, and Abyan, mainly during the afternoon and evening.
Weather is expected to be partly cloudy, hot, and humid over Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts, with chances of light rain. Strong to very strong winds are expected around Socotra, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts, leading to rough seas and high waves.
In desert regions, weather will likely be clear to partly cloudy, dry, and hot to extremely hot, with moderate to occasionally active winds causing dust and sandstorms.
The center warned residents to avoid valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall due to the risk of flash flooding and thunderstorm hazards.
It also cautioned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of dangerous sea conditions and high waves around Socotra, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
Additionally, the public in coastal plains and deserts is advised to avoid direct sun exposure during midday hours.
