The September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences organized on Monday a commemorative event for the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali.
Dr. Munir al-Wusabi, Dean of the Environment and Community Service, highlighted the importance of the commemoration for drawing lessons and insights that enhance the nation's awareness, certainty, and resolve.
He reviewed aspects of Imam Zaid's scholarly and jihadi life, emphasizing the importance of emulating him and adhering to the principles and values for which he sacrificed, including supporting the oppressed, confronting tyrants, and working consciously for the nation's reform.
Cultural activist Abdulmalik Jaber discussed Imam Zaid's life, from his scholarly upbringing in the Prophet's household to his stances against political deviation and his blessed revolution and martyrdom.
Jaber stressed the importance of commemorating this event to highlight the profound impact Imam Zaid left on the revolutionary Islamic consciousness.
Mohammed Abu al-Ghaith, Deputy Director of Activities at the university, affirmed the significance of recalling Imam Zaid's life as a source of inspiration for dignity, honor, and revolution in the path of truth, noting that he unified knowledge and jihad, being a truthful scholar and a caller to Allah with truth.
