Brussels - Saba:
Former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell sharply criticized EU foreign ministers for their failure to take any action to hold "Israel" accountable for human rights violations in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on the "X" platform regarding the outcome of Tuesday’s ministerial meeting in Brussels, Borrell said: "This will allow the genocide being committed by 'Israel' against Palestinians in Gaza to continue 'relentlessly'."
Borrell accused the European Union of failing to act on Israel’s violation of the human rights clause in their partnership agreement.
He stated: "Europe has decided not to punish 'Israel' for ongoing war crimes and to allow the genocide in Gaza to continue without restraint."
Despite the EU reviewing its partnership agreement with "Israel" and acknowledging that Tel Aviv is violating human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, no sanctions were imposed during Tuesday's foreign ministers’ meeting.
