The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 55 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.

The ministry said in a statement: "Last night, from 8:00 PM Moscow time on July 14 to 7:00 AM Moscow time on July 15, air defense warning systems intercepted and destroyed 55 Ukrainian drones.

The ministry explained that "32 drones were shot down over the territory of Belgorod Region, 12 over Voronezh Region, 6 over the Black Sea Region, 3 over Lipetsk Region, and one drone over each of Rostov and Kursk Regions."

Ukrainian forces target the Russian border regions of Crimea and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and Rostov Regions with drones and missiles almost daily.

Russian forces, for their part, respond by targeting exclusively Ukrainian military infrastructure, as well as facilities of the military-industrial complex and everything related to the storage, repair, or manufacture of military equipment, as well as centers for the concentration of Ukrainian armed forces personnel and foreign mercenaries.
