New York - Saba:

Sam Rose, acting head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), warned on Monday that Palestinians in Gaza face "impossible choices" in their attempts to obtain aid from sites controlled by Israeli forces.

Rose told CNN, "The situation on the ground is worse than ever. There is a tragic and horrific inevitability to this situation, and the longer it continues, the worse it will get."

The UN official's comments come amid the devastating consequences of the worsening hunger crisis, under a controversial plan supported by the Israeli enemy forces and the United States.

He pointed out that "just when we think the situation can't get any worse, it does."

He said, "If we try to put ourselves in the shoes of the people who go to aid sites and are killed, they face impossible choices, as all the people of Gaza are now. Either they risk starving themselves or their families to death, or they risk death trying to stave off that hunger."

The UN official explained that the situation is "extremely desperate. They have no choice," and that "this is the reality, the daily suffering that people are now experiencing in Gaza."
