Miami - Saba:

Chelsea won the inaugural edition of the Club World Cup under its new format, defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday evening.

Cole Palmer scored Chelsea's first and second goals in the 22nd and 30th minutes, respectively, before setting up the third goal for his Brazilian teammate João Pedro in the 43rd minute, making Palmer the undisputed hero of the match.

PSG's woes were compounded by the match, which was attended by US President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. They were reduced to ten men after João Neves was sent off in the 86th minute, and a scuffle broke out between players at the end of the match.

Chelsea, who won the last edition of the European Conference League earlier this year, put in their best performances in the Club World Cup and could have won by a greater number of goals, especially given the lackluster performance of Paris Saint-Germain's stars, who shocked their fans who were anticipating another title in their exceptional season, which saw the team win the French League, the Coupe de France, and the Champions League.

This is Chelsea's second title, marking their third appearance in the Club World Cup final, having previously lifted the trophy in 2021. They lost the final in 2012, when the competition was limited to seven teams.
