Bethlehem - Saba:
The Palestinian Ma'an News Agency reported, citing lawyer Osama al-Saadi, that the Ofer Military Court will consider today, Sunday, the Israeli police's request to extend the detention of journalist Nasser al-Lahham for an additional eight days to complete his investigation on charges of providing services to a banned organization and incitement.
Ma'an reported that the military court at Ofer Prison will consider the police's request today, and defense lawyer Osama al-Saadi will request his client's release.
The Agency added that defense attorney Osama Saadi will object to his continued detention and request his immediate release, given the lack of grounds for his arrest and continued detention, especially since the arrest is political and undermines his journalistic work, particularly in light of his health condition.
Israeli forces arrested the editor-in-chief of the Ma'an Media Network, Dr. Nasser Lahham, after raiding his home in Bethlehem on July 7.
