Speaker of Parliament reaffirms Yemen’s Firm Support for Gaza

Sana’a - Saba

Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, praised the continued successes of the Yemeni Armed Forces in developing and modernizing military capabilities to confront current challenges and thwart the objectives of the Zionist aggression.

In a joint meeting he chaired—bringing together the Parliament’s Presidium, the Labor Force Committee, and the General Secretariat—Al-Ra’i reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, emphasizing continued solidarity until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted. He also reiterated Yemen’s declared commitment to the security of maritime navigation, excluding the Israeli entity.

The Parliament’s Presidium condemned what it called contradictions in the statements of the UN Secretary-General and his envoy to Yemen, criticizing their neglect of the catastrophic situation in Gaza while focusing instead on Yemen’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause.

The body strongly denounced the ongoing massacres committed by Israeli war criminals—with U.S. backing—against the Palestinian people, involving widespread killing, destruction, starvation, terrorization, and violations of rights and holy sites, all under the eyes of the international community.

The leadership also decried the continued Arab and Islamic silence and inaction, calling it an unprecedented moral collapse in modern history.

It expressed pride in the achievements of the Yemeni Armed Forces in supporting the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, describing their role as both impactful and strategic in the field, having imposed a new equation: Gaza’s security is tied to Yemen’s and the region’s. It added that this shift has altered the rules of engagement, effectively wearing down the Israeli enemy and its backers, restoring the dignity of the Arab and Islamic nations, and exposing the complicity of failing regimes.

The meeting also reviewed internal parliamentary matters and adopted the necessary decisions. Based on proposals from the Presidium and the Labor Force Committee, the latter was tasked with studying several referred issues and submitting a report accordingly.
