London – Saba:

Polish tennis star Iga Świątek secured her first-ever Wimbledon title on Saturday, defeating American Amanda Anisimova in straight sets in the final of the third Grand Slam of the season.

Świątek, ranked world No. 2, needed just 57 minutes to seal a commanding victory over the 12th-ranked Anisimova with a double bagel scoreline of 6-0, 6-0 in what was a one-sided encounter and their first head-to-head meeting.

The win marks Świątek’s 23rd career title and her sixth Grand Slam crown, having previously won four French Open titles (2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024) and the US Open in 2022.

At 24 years old, Świątek becomes the first Polish player to win Wimbledon in the Open Era and the first woman since 1911 to win a Wimbledon final without conceding a single game.

She also becomes the eighth consecutive player to lift her maiden Wimbledon trophy, continuing the trend that began after Serena Williams' last title at the All England Club in 2016.
