Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, warned of the dangers of the return of extremism to the region against the backdrop of the Zionist entity's practices, emphasizing Iran's determination to defend its nuclear program.
The Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported that this came in response to a question from the Russian news agency TASS about the current state of relations between Iran and the Zionist entity and whether this ceasefire is sustainable or fragile.
Jalali said, "We did not initiate the war, and it was imposed through the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime and the United States. There is still a possibility that the Zionist regime will enter a phase of extremism in its decisions. It is the Zionist regime that has tried to disrupt the negotiations through incitement and chaos in the region."
In response to a question about whether Iran intends to resume the production of enriched uranium in the medium term, he said, "Iran's nuclear capabilities are indigenous, and damaging the infrastructure will have no impact, because nuclear science cannot be eliminated through bombing and missiles."
He continued, "This aggression has strengthened our will to build a desirable future for the country. In this regard, the scientific and intellectual elites will firmly defend the nuclear program, which is our legitimate and legal right that cannot be denied. We currently only demand respect for international law."
In response to a question about Iran's readiness to resume negotiations with the United States regarding its nuclear program, he said, "It is now clear that we have never left the negotiating table and remain committed to diplomacy. In this context, the attack on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities by the Western hegemonic regime under US leadership demonstrates the undermining of the rational approach, the weakening of the logic of negotiation, and the rendering of legal mechanisms worthless."
He stated, "Negotiations can only resume if there is confidence in the negotiating process." He added, "During the negotiations, the Zionist entity must not be allowed to renew its attack on Iran and ignite the flames of war. If the US were truly committed to dialogue, it would not have launched the attack on Iran."
In response to a question, he said, "If necessary, Russia can play an effective role, whether in rebuilding damaged infrastructure or as a mediator to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States."
