An expanded media meeting, chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Muftah, discussed on Thursday a media vision to confront any aggressive escalation by the Israeli enemy.
The meeting, attended by Minister of Information Hashim Sharafuddin, his deputy Dr. Omar Al-Bukhayti, and a number of leaders from public and private media institutions, journalists, and social media activists, addressed aspects related to the emergency plan for national media outlets.
During the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of preparedness to implement the media emergency plans developed by the Ministry of Information and its affiliated units, in anticipation of any Israeli escalation targeting civilians, national infrastructure, and media facilities.
He stressed the need for integrated roles among all relevant media entities, maintaining steadfastness and high morale, and utilizing available resources to enhance national media performance—ensuring Yemen’s voice, which the enemy seeks to silence, continues to be heard. He urged delivering the media message to global public opinion and exposing the falsehoods propagated by the enemy and its mercenaries.
The First Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Ministry of Information, media outlets, journalists, and activists despite challenges. He highlighted the importance of involving private media and social media activists in countering disinformation campaigns by the country’s enemies and raising public awareness on confronting Israeli aggression, providing them with emergency guidelines.
For his part, Minister of Information Hashim Sharafuddin affirmed that in facing any Israeli aggression, the Ministry and the media front bear a critical responsibility in mobilizing public opinion and strengthening national resilience. He stated that the media battle requires a strong, steadfast, and unified national media characterized by stability, awareness, and responsibility, embodying a spirit of moral resistance.
Sharafuddin outlined the Ministry’s vision to preempt and respond to any Israeli escalation, including media strategies, lessons from Iran’s media confrontation during Israeli aggression, and countering the propaganda of Yemeni traitors serving Zionist agendas.
He emphasized accuracy, objectivity, transparency, national unity, high morale, countering enemy psychological warfare, and effectively employing all media channels while maintaining professionalism.
Sharafuddin also stressed the importance of social media in rapidly countering rumors, translation efforts, creating multilingual accounts, and using sponsored content in English to reach Western audiences. He highlighted the need to engage with Arab, Islamic, and international media to present Yemen’s narrative objectively.
Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhayti underscored coordinating efforts to highlight Yemeni victories against forces of arrogance and domination. He reviewed aspects of the Ministry’s emergency plan, ensuring Yemeni media’s continuity despite challenges, citing an Iranian TV channel’s quick recovery after being bombed as a media victory over Israel.
The meeting included interventions and discussions by journalists and activists on the media vision and emergency plans for official and private media.
