Ankara – Saba:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—described as a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court—“has long surpassed the tyrant (Nazi leader Adolf Hitler)” in terms of genocidal crimes committed.
In a speech to the parliamentary group of the “Justice and Development Party” at the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, Erdogan said his country is doing everything possible to stop the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran.
He added: “The blood of civilians, infants, and children who have been killed stains the hands and foreheads of those who remain silent and those who support Israel’s arrogance.”
Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is prepared to face any scenarios or negative outcomes that may arise from what he called the “Israeli-Iranian conflict.”
He noted that “Israel” has expanded its aggression in the region by targeting and assassinating figures inside Iran. He stressed that Iran’s defense against state terrorism and Israel’s unlawful actions is “a completely legitimate and lawful right.”
The Turkish president pointed out that Iran had been subjected to a “blatant attack by an arrogant state that respects neither law, nor systems, nor principles.”
He also condemned “Israel”—which possesses nuclear weapons and disregards all international regulations—as having committed “comprehensive acts of terrorism” without waiting for the outcome of negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
Erdogan described remaining silent in the face of “Israel’s aggressive practices, security chaos, and state terrorism” as tantamount to complicity in the crimes.
Supported by the United States and European powers, the Israeli military has continued to perpetrate acts of genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 55,493 Palestinians—the majority of them women and children—and the injury of 129,320 others, according to non-final figures, as thousands remain trapped under rubble and in inaccessible areas.
Since early Friday, Israel—backed by the United States—has launched an assault on Iran, including strikes on nuclear facilities, missile bases, and the assassination of military leaders and nuclear scientists. These attacks have killed dozens and injured hundreds. In response, Tehran has fired ballistic missiles and drones targeting the Israeli entity.
