Illinois - Saba:
Jewish activists in Chicago, Illinois, announced the launch of an open-ended hunger strike to protest the ongoing Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian WAFA News Agency, the strike, led by leaders of the Jewish Voice for Peace organization, including academics, also aims to pressure for an end to US military funding for Israel and an end to the food and medicine blockade that has led to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
WAFA noted that the activists affirmed their support for the passage of a law aimed at halting arms exports to Israel.
The report noted that this strike coincided with a mass event organized in Chicago demanding an end to arms supplies to Israel and relief for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The event included university students and Congresswoman Dalia Ramirez, one of the members of Congress who introduced the "Stop Arms Exports to Israel" bill.
