Geneva - Saba:
The UN Human Rights Council will hold its meeting in Geneva on Monday amid mounting global crises.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk will speak at the beginning of the meeting at UN headquarters in the Swiss city and present his annual report.
He is expected to reiterate his call for governments to intensify efforts to protect and promote human rights.
His office, like many UN bodies, is facing a severe financial shortfall as several member states shift budget priorities from international institutions to military spending.
