Washington - Saba:
US President Donald Trump claimed that his country had nothing to do with the recent Israeli attack on Iran.
Trump tweeted on Truth Social, as reported by Sputnik, "The United States had nothing to do with today's attack on Iran. However, we can easily make a deal between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict."
Trump added that if Iran attacks the United States in any way, the US military will come down on them with full force "on a scale we've never seen before."
Trump had previously stated that the war between Israel and Iran must end, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin shares this view.
Trump explained in a post on his Truth Social account on Saturday evening: "I spoke at length with Putin about Iran... I also told him that the Russia-Ukraine war must also end."
Earlier, Axios reported, citing Israeli officials, that Tel Aviv had asked the United States over the past two days to join "the war against Iran to destroy its nuclear program."
The website explained: "Over the past 48 hours, Israel has asked the Trump administration to join the war with Iran to eliminate its nuclear program."
According to an Axios source, "The United States may join the operation against Iran if necessary, and Trump offered such assistance to the war criminal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in one of his recent conversations."
