Moscow - Saba:
The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the Russian Army's "East" Group of Forces managed to liberate the residential center of Kumar in the Donetsk People's Republic.
The Russia Today website quoted the ministry as saying that during the offensive towards the south of Donetsk, soldiers of the "East" Group of Forces were able to liberate the town of Kumar – an important logistics center and long-term defense of the enemy.
This residential center is protected by a natural water barrier and densely populated residential areas.
The ministry added that during the fighting, units from the 336th Independent Marine Brigade and the 37th Mechanized Infantry Brigade penetrated the Ukrainian Armed Forces' layered defense system. After clearing the buildings and basements of the village, Russian flags were raised there.
The Russian Defense Ministry indicated that during the liberation of the town, Russian units destroyed dozens of enemy combat vehicles and cleared more than 1,100 buildings and facilities.
