Boeing shares fall 7% after Air India crash

New York – Saba:

Boeing shares fell more than 7% in premarket trading on Thursday following the crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner near Ahmedabad Airport.

The ill-fated plane, flight AI-171, was bound for London Gatwick Airport and was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers, 12 crew members, and three infants.

This crash comes at a particularly sensitive time for Boeing, which is already facing increasing pressure from regulators and investors following a series of problems affecting its 737 Max and 787 models, which have cast doubt on the company's safety standards, according to Russia Today.

The sharp decline in Boeing shares reflected investor concern over the potential repercussions of this high-profile air crash, amid fears that it could open a new chapter in the company's woes from which it has barely recovered.
