Russian forces have destroyed 26 US-made Abrams tanks out of 31 received from the United States by Kyiv. This leaves only five tanks left for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Sputnik Agency estimates.
According to Sputnik, Russian forces have destroyed 26 Abrams tanks belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces since February 2024.
The agency indicated that the first such tank was destroyed by members of the Russian Center Group of Forces on February 26, 2024, on the Avdiivka axis.
In the same context, the Russian army documented the destruction of the first American-made Abrams tank in the special operations area. The tank, which was in the possession of Kyiv forces in Avdiivka, was shown in a video burning after being reduced to scrap by Russian fire.
In January 2023, former US President Joe Biden announced the delivery of 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
