Mina - Saba:
Pilgrims (Hajjis) began arriving this morning, Wednesday, the eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 They head to Mina to spend the Day of Tarwiyah, seeking closeness to Allah Almighty, hoping for His acceptance and forgiveness, following and emulating the Sunnah of their Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), frequently reciting the Talbiyah, glorifying Allah, and extolling His greatness in a spiritual and faithful manner.
The arrival of pilgrims, both those performing the Hajj and those performing the Hajj, in their state of ihram to Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah and spending the night there on their way to the site of Arafah is a confirmed Sunnah.
Pilgrims performing the Hajj and those performing the Umrah (Pilgrimage) enter the state of ihram from their locations, whether inside or outside Mecca. Pilgrims remain there until after sunrise on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, after which they head to Arafah. They then return to Arafah after leaving Arafah and spending the night in Muzdalifah to spend the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th days, and to throw the three Jamarat (Jamrat al-'Aqabah, Jamrat al-Wusta, and Jamrat al-Sughra), except for those who are in a hurry. This is in accordance with the Almighty's statement: "And remember Allah during the appointed days. But whoever hastens [to leave] in two days, there is no sin upon him." And whoever stays behind, there is no sin upon him for him who fears Allah.
The Mina area lies between Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Muzdalifah, seven kilometers northeast of the Grand Mosque. It is part of the boundaries of the Sacred Sanctuary, surrounded by mountains to the north and south. It is only inhabited during the Hajj season. It is bordered on the Makkah side by Jamarat Al-Aqaba, and on the Muzdalifah side by Wadi Muhsar.
