European stock indices closed mixed at the close of trading on Monday.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.75 points, or 0.14 percent, to 547 points, and the French CAC 40 index fell 14 points, or 0.19 percent, to 7,737 points.
The German DAX index lost 66 points, or 0.28 percent, to 23,930 points, and the Italian FTSE MIB index lost 103 points to 39,984 points. The Spanish IBX 35 index rose 50 points to 14,202 points, and the British FTSE 100 index added 1.88 points to 8,774 points.
