Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described Ukraine's expectation of President Vladimir Putin's participation in the previous Istanbul negotiations as a "sick fantasy invented by Vladimir Zelensky."
In an interview with Sputnik Radio, Zakharova said that Russia had previously announced the composition of its delegation to the Istanbul negotiations, noting that President Putin had clearly stated prior to the negotiations that "a Russian delegation would go to Istanbul."
She added, "It is clear that this delegation includes a group of high-level experts. That is exactly what was said. The composition of the delegation and the figures participating in it were later announced."
