The International Committee of the Red Cross reported that the captured Israeli soldier, Idan Alexander, who holds American citizenship, is on his way to the handover point in the Khan Yunis area.
Reuters quoted an informed source as saying that Israeli occupation vehicles were on their way to receive Idan Alexander, while the coordinator for prisoners' affairs, Hirsch, and the US envoy, Witkoff, headed to the Re'im military base.
Informed sources confirmed, according to the Russia Today website, that the Red Cross has increased its field presence in certain areas of the Gaza Strip, in preparation for any developments on the ground in the coming hours.
This morning, Monday, the military spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, announced the release of the captured Israeli soldier, Idan Alexander, who holds American citizenship.
The military spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades said in a tweet on Telegram: "The Al-Qassam Brigades has decided to release the captured Zionist soldier, who holds American citizenship, Idan Alexander, today, Monday, May 12, 2025."
