Gaza - Saba:
Hospitals in the Gaza Strip are experiencing a real catastrophe, spokesman for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, said on Thursday, due to a shortage of supplies resulting from the continued closure of the Strip's crossings and the occupation's prevention of the entry of medical supplies.
All hospitals in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe shortage of medicine, stressing that their closure would mean a death sentence for hundreds of wounded, Khalil Al-Daqran added in press statements.
He explained that hospitals are unable to accommodate the large number of wounded, in light of the ongoing Israeli massacres across the Gaza Strip.
Al-Daqran appealed to international organizations to save the Gaza Strip from the catastrophe it is experiencing.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza confirmed that the health system in the Strip has reached a state of near-total collapse, noting that hospitals will close within days if fuel is not brought in, and that the situation in the Strip is extremely tragic.
For his part, the deputy coordinator of Doctors Without Borders in Gaza said that the situation in the Strip is beyond catastrophic.
He added that "medical staff are facing difficulty moving, which affects our programs," stressing the urgent need to open the crossings and bring in medical supplies for work.
For nearly two months, the Zionist enemy has continued to prevent all humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip. On March 2, it halted the entry of aid through the Kerem Shalom, Erez, and Zikim crossings, completely halting the entry of relief supplies and fuel. With full American support, the Zionist enemy has been committing genocidal crimes in Gaza since that date, leaving more than 170,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
