A fourth round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States is expected to begin in the Omani capital, according to Iranian state media, which set Sunday, May 11, as the likely date.
The Iranian Nour News website first broke the news, citing a statement from an unnamed official regarding the resumption of negotiations on Sunday.
A source close to the negotiating team told Reuters that the final date has not been decided, suggesting that the meetings will likely be held over two days: Saturday and Sunday, or Sunday and Monday, in Muscat.
The fourth round, originally scheduled for May 3 in Rome, has been postponed, with Oman citing "logistical reasons."
Axios reported that chief US negotiator Steve Voitkov also indicated efforts to hold the meeting early next week, after the Iranian Foreign Ministry reiterated Tehran's commitment to its diplomatic approach toward Washington.
In Moscow, the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the progress of the talks with his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Bezdeshikian, stressing Russia's readiness to "facilitate dialogue" to reach a "fair agreement."
