Gaza - (Saba):
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) condemned the heinous crime that targeted the "Consciousness - Global Conscience" ship in international waters off the coast of Malta.
The ship was on a peaceful humanitarian mission to break the siege on Gaza and deliver urgent life-saving aid to more than two million people suffering under ongoing Zionist aggression and blockade.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the Front stressed that this cowardly attack, which bears the hallmarks of the Zionist occupation and reflects its horror of the growing global solidarity with the Palestinian people, is a new act of Zionist piracy.
It emphasized that this attack is the continuation of a long record of documented crimes by the occupation, the most notable of which was the targeting of the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara in 2010, which killed and wounded dozens of international activists.
It explained that this aggression proves once again that this rogue enemy does not respect any international resolutions, benefiting from American political and military cover and continued Western bias for its crimes against our people and the free people of the world.
The Front held the Zionist enemy fully responsible for endangering the lives of international volunteers and solidarity workers, and for any disaster that may befall the ship.
It warned against international complacency regarding this crime, which represents a blatant assault on universal human values.
It called on the free peoples of the world to escalate pressure and a comprehensive boycott of this criminal entity, and to take urgent action to break the siege on the Gaza Strip by organizing major freedom convoys from various continents, and to confront all attempts by the occupation to prevent the delivery of humanitarian aid.
The Front indicated that the responsibility of the free people of the world today requires escalating the political, legal, and popular struggle to delegitimize this criminal entity and bring its leaders to trial as war criminals, not only for their crimes against the Palestinian people, but for their repeated crimes against humanity as a whole.
