Sana'a – Saba:
The Subcommittee for Girls' Summer Programs and Activities in the Capital Secretariat, in cooperation with the General Authority for the Development of Small and Micro Enterprises, launched food manufacturing activities aimed at equipping female students with expertise and skills in food production.

During the inauguration, Ibtisam Al-Mahduri, Head of the Subcommittee for Summer Programs (Girls' Section), emphasized the importance of providing girls with food manufacturing skills and encouraging them to pursue professions that enable them to establish small businesses. This initiative seeks to improve their income and support self-sufficiency efforts.

She praised the efforts of the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprises in sponsoring such activities targeting summer program participants. Al-Mahduri also commended the collaborative efforts in activating summer programs in food manufacturing, local production, and life skills, which benefit students, families, and society while contributing to civilizational progress and addressing economic challenges.

For her part, Buthayna Al-Mansoor, Director of Female Student Activities at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research and member of the Subcommittee for Summer Programs, highlighted the role of the General Authority in supporting, funding, and implementing food manufacturing workshops. These workshops will effectively equip students with food production skills, aligning with the revolutionary leadership’s directives to promote local production and self-sufficiency.

She explained that the food manufacturing workshops will run for two weeks, with 581 workshops conducted by specialized trainers.

Meanwhile, Lamya Sharafuddin, Public Relations and Media Officer at the Women's Department of the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprises, stated that the food manufacturing activities are part of the Authority’s vision to create a productive society capable of utilizing its resources to support the national economy.

She noted that beneficiaries will receive theoretical and practical training in drying, canning, jam production, pickles, juices, and yogurt, enhancing their capabilities , stimulating their creativity and productivity.
