Sana'a - Saba:

A meeting chaired by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Baja'alah, on Sunday discussed coordination mechanisms between the ministry and international organizations, including the ICRC and the Yemeni Red Crescent, to provide emergency aid to those affected by the US aggression.

The meeting addressed the impact of the US aggression since mid-March, targeting civilian areas in Sana'a and other provinces. Minister Baja'alah emphasized the importance of integrated efforts between the Ministry, ICRC, and the Yemeni Red Crescent to provide cash, shelter, medical care, and psychological support to those suffering from the aggression against civilians and port workers.

He expressed regret over some organizations' failure to fulfill their humanitarian role due to political pressure, while praising the ICRC's impartial work.

Head of the ICRC delegation Christine Shibola affirmed the ICRC's non-political stance and continued operations in Yemen, noting cooperation with the Yemeni Red Crescent in providing aid and supporting hospitals.

She reviewed ICRC interventions and its plan to support hospitals, emphasizing the need for an increased response due to escalating airstrikes on residential areas and expressing readiness to support the Yemeni Red Crescent's aid plan.

Shibola also stressed the importance of expanded government coordination with international organizations to ensure the safety of aid crews.
