Bogota - Saba:
Twelve people were killed on Saturday in an armed attack on a cockfighting arena in Ecuador, South America.
The attack, according to Anadolu Agency, took place in the La Valencia area of Manabi province and was carried out by gang members wearing military uniforms.
In press statements, region's police chief, Miller Rivera said the attack resulted in the deaths of 12 people and the injury of several others.
Rivera noted that the wounded were taken to hospitals and that police have launched a large-scale security operation to apprehend the attackers.
According to circulating video clips, individuals wearing military uniforms are seen shooting randomly during a cockfight.
