UN: Israel continues to obstruct humanitarian aid distribution in Gaza

New York - Saba:

The United Nations said that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to obstruct the distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza, noting that aid has not entered the Strip for nearly two months.

Stephanie Tremblay, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, explained in a press conference that humanitarian aid has not entered Gaza for nearly two months, stressing the need to continue providing aid without interruption.

She noted that humanitarian aid workers continue to face difficulties in carrying out their duties, and that the occupation authorities only allowed the passage of two of the six humanitarian aid operations planned for yesterday.

The restrictions imposed by the occupation on humanitarian access hinder the ability to supply hospitals with medical supplies, putting the health of more patients at risk, according to the United Nations.
