The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said that the Zionist enemy's targeting of journalists in the Gaza Strip aims to terrorize them and deter them from conveying the truth and exposing the Zionist enemy's massacres against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued on Monday, Hamas condemned the deliberate assassination of martyred journalist Hussam Shabat, a correspondent for Al Jazeera Mubasher, and martyred journalist Mohammed Mansour, a correspondent for Palestine Today, while they were covering the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The movement called on international press and media institutions to fulfill their responsibilities in exposing these crimes and protecting Palestinian journalists, 208 of whom have been killed by the Zionist enemy to date.
Hamas commended the role played by journalists working in the Gaza Strip and their courageous continuation of their professional careers and fulfillment of their moral mission.
