Sana'a - Saba:

The work of the Fourth Vascular Surgery Conference and the Second Cardiac Surgery Conference on Wednesday began in Sana'a, organized by the Yemeni Vascular Surgery Association under the title "We keep pace with everything new for safe surgery."

The two conferences will discuss, over three days, a number of working papers and research on the latest scientific research and precise therapeutic developments in vascular and cardiac surgery, with the participation of 700 senior doctors and consultants from inside and outside the country.

In the opening session, Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban stated that the two conferences reflect the great interaction in developing qualitative medical sciences and enhancing skills in the fields of vascular surgery and cardiac surgery and exchanging experiences.

He pointed out that progress in the field of health care can only be achieved by keeping pace with scientific and technical developments and exchanging knowledge and researching the latest therapeutic and surgical methods, noting that vascular and cardiac surgery are medical fields that require precise skills and continuous development.

Minister Shaiban explained that Yemen witnessed many challenges and difficulties during the years of aggression and siege in continuing and improving the provision of health and medical services, as the enemy was keen to fail the health sector, stressing that the challenges have become an opportunity to achieve successes as the health sector has witnessed in the last ten years a great development in the Yemenization of specialized and qualitative services that ensure patient safety and achieve the best results.

He noted that the progress of vascular and cardiac surgery requires the combined efforts of doctors, surgeons and specialists in this field.. stressing the importance of continuing to enhance continuing medical education and working to provide an advanced educational and experimental environment that meets the needs of various specialties.

The Minister of Health also stressed the need to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors to develop health services and cooperate with universities and specialized research centers to achieve the best scientific and practical results.

He appreciated the efforts of the Yemeni Society for Vascular Surgery in organizing the two conferences for the most important surgical specialties, stressing the country's need for such specialties in such circumstances.. pointing out that the country has the human capabilities that qualify it to improve medical services, especially in precise specialties.

The President of the Yemeni Society for Vascular Surgery and the President of the Conference, Dr. Nabil Al-Madwahi, pointed out the importance of discussing the vision, challenges and ambitions in the field of cardiovascular surgery.. indicating that the two conferences include lectures, scientific presentations and workshops with wide participation from the largest specialists in this field regionally and globally, and from various governorates.

He explained that vascular surgery and heart surgery are not just medical specialties, but a humanitarian journey that seeks to save lives and improve the quality of life, noting that the challenges facing today require everyone to unite and work at the level of medical institutions and bodies locally, regionally and globally, especially in the presence of distinguished Yemeni cadres in the fields of cardiovascular surgery.

He hailed the conferences a platform for exchanging ideas and medical expertise, both Arab and international, via video technology, listening and participating in workshops and scientific lectures.
