Cook Islands - Saba:
The Cook Islands' recent signing of a five-year agreement with China has triggered concerns and protests from New Zealand, its constitutionally linked partner.
The agreement, signed earlier this month, has caused controversy due to the Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown's initial refusal to disclose its details, leading to protests and discontent from New Zealand.
The Cook Islands government has now revealed that "four major agreements" were signed, encompassing: a broad framework for bilateral cooperation, cooperation on the blue economy, exploration and search for seabed mineral resources, economic and technical cooperation.
