The first medical forum in Yemen and the "Yemen Medica" exhibition began in Sana'a on Tuesday.
The forum and exhibition, organized by the first commercial center for medicines, devices and medical equipment "Al-Qasr Mall" in coordination with the Supreme Authority for Medicines, the Medical Council and Sana'a University, aim to enhance the standards of quality, innovation and integration in health services and focus on the safe circulation of medicines and medical supplies and highlight the latest technological innovations and medical needs.
The forum will discuss, over three days, with the participation of doctors, academics, representatives of pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers, associations, unions, medical unions and the Food and Drug Research Foundation, scientific working papers on the latest developments and innovations in the field of health and medicine.
Working papers on the activities of Yemeni associations and medical unions will also be reviewed, including "radiology, emergency medicine, disasters, neonatology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, neurology, orthopedics, anesthesia, restoration and cosmetics, the Pharmacists Syndicate and Profession, therapeutic nutrition and diets."
At the opening, Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban stressed the importance of the forum for exchanging knowledge, enhancing partnership and supporting innovation in providing health services, and it represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development.
He considered "Yemen Medica" a strategic platform and a bridge for science and innovation and an opportunity to enhance integration between various governmental and private actors and local and international organizations.. stressing the importance of embodying the vision of the medical forum in raising quality standards and enhancing innovation and sustainable integration between service providers, manufacturers and investors.
The Minister of Health pointed out that developing the health system is not limited to building facilities or providing equipment, but rather depends primarily on human competencies, scientific research and effective partnership between the public and private sectors.
He considered the forum and exhibition a real opportunity to discuss the latest innovations, enhance training and qualification and stimulate investment in the health sector.. noting that the ministry will announce the drug and pharmacy law next week as a priority within the framework of the safe circulation of medicines and medical supplies.
At the forum, which was attended by Assistant Director of the Prime Minister's Office Taha Al-Sufyani, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Medicines Dr. Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, and Chairman of the Food and Drug Research Foundation Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Medicines for Local Industry Affairs Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharif, pointed out the importance of the medical forum, which represents a distinguished scientific and medical movement.
He stressed the support for the forum, which includes most medical specialties and modern technologies, with the participation of all companies and drug manufacturers.
He praised the efforts of the preparatory committee for the forum, which includes scientific papers, workshops and seminars to exchange experiences and knowledge.
Chairman of the preparatory committee for the forum, Abdullah Zaid, pointed out the importance of the forum, which brings together an elite group of experts from various medical specialties to discuss the latest developments and innovations in the fields of health and medicine.
He highlighted the need to enhance cooperation and integration in the health sector and strive to achieve the best health and medical services and focus on the safe circulation of medicines and medical supplies, praising the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Health and all sponsors of the forum, which is a platform for exchanging knowledge.
The Minister of Health and Environment and the Assistant Director of the Prime Minister's Office were briefed on the products of pharmaceutical companies, medical supplies and local pharmaceutical factories included in the "Yemen Medica" exhibition.
