Sana'a - Saba:
The harvest of Peas crop for this season was inaugurated on Sunday in Hozan district of Manakha district in Sana'a province.
During the inauguration, the coordinator of contract farming in the directorate, Khaled Al-Suwari, and the head of the Hozan Development Association, Abdullah Al-Qalisi, explained that the harvest comes as a culmination of the efforts exerted to restore the production of basic crops that were neglected for several years, due to the aggression.
They pointed out that the harvest includes more than four thousand bricks planted with improved seeds provided by the Western Sector Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Association in the province, noting that the next phase will witness the cultivation of large areas of land in the directorate with various basic crops that suit the nature of the region.
Al-Suwari and Al-Qulaisi emphasized providing the support and facilities needed by the farmers according to what is available, pointing out that the Sector Association will purchase the crops at appropriate prices and market them.
For their part, the farmers appreciated the role of the Western Sector Association in the expansion of the first phase of the project, which provided improved seeds, fertilizers and pesticides as white loans, considering this initiative one of the most effective and fruitful initiatives that translate the revolutionary leadership's directives.
