Melbourne - Saba:
British Emma Raducanu qualified today, Tuesday, for the second round of the Australian Open after defeating Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6 and 7-6 in the first round of the tournament.

The British player (22 years old), who has suffered a series of injuries since winning her only Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open, returned to competition for the first time since November by defeating the 26th seed at Melbourne Park.

Raducanu will face American Amanda Anisimova (23 years old) in the next round, another player who came to the spotlight at a young age after reaching the semi-finals of the French Open in 2019.
