Geneva - Saba:
UN rapporteurs have said there must be consequences for the Zionist violations of the foundations of international law in the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement on Monday, a number of UN rapporteurs said the Zionist attacks on the Gaza Strip and the forced displacement of Palestinians are still ongoing, adding that Israel has weakened the legal framework for the protection of civilians in armed conflicts.
The statement indicated that the occupier has repeatedly and openly defied international law by inflicting maximum suffering on civilians inside and outside the occupied Palestinian territories.
Israel commits crimes against humanity such as murder, torture, sexual violence, and forced displacement, they added, noting that the occupier has carried out random attacks against civilians and civilian targets, in addition to its attacks against educational and cultural institutions and health services.
The Zionist enemy continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the martyrdom of 45,541 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 108,338 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and in streets, and ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.
