Taipei - Saba:

At least nine people have been killed in a massive fire that broke out in a massive food processing building under construction in central Taiwan.

A video posted on social media showed a wall of dark gray smoke and flames rising from one side of the five-story building in Taichung City.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but the Taichung Civil Defense said it spread quickly due to a large amount of foam boards at the site.

Taiwanese media reported that one person died after jumping from the third floor, and firefighters found the other victims in a search that lasted into the evening, and 19 people were rescued.
