Aslam Agricultural Association in Hajjah province and the local council in the district launched the rice harvest season on Sunday.
At the inauguration, Hajjah governor Hilal al-Sufi and the province undersecretary for Tihama districts Affairs Abdulkarim Khamusi pointed out the need to expand rice cultivation, which the district is famous for, and to raise awareness among farmers in this regard.
He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to improve rice production by providing farmers with various experiences through the Knights of Development and raising awareness of cultivating prepared lands..
He pointed out the keenness of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to cultivate crops that each district is distinguished by to reach self-sufficiency and achieve food security.
While the director of the district, Ma'abar Badawi, and the head of the Aslam Association, Jaber Qadri, pointed out the keenness to raise farmers' awareness of the importance of rice cultivation.. noting that the harvest includes 20 hectares as a first stage.
They stressed that the next phase will witness an expansion in rice cultivation, noting the implementation of awareness programmes for school students on the cultivation of crops that the directorate is famous for.
