The Israeli hostile policies and armament are behind the lingering escalation in the Middle East, the Russian foreign minister said at an interview publish today.
The situation in the Middle East is persistently deteriorating, as a direct result of Israel's hostile policies and armament, and Washington's desire to monopolize mediation missions and sacrifice UNSC resolutions, Sergey Lavrov added.
Israel's desire to insure its security at the cost of other regional countries' security is a fruitless idea that would cause problems for many upcoming years, he told the Russian paper, noting that the next step to cope with the peak of the crisis should lie in the preparation for the establishment of an independent state of Palestine.
The achievement of this purpose should depend on the regional states' positions, but not the positions of those who try to impose their dictations from beyond the ocean, the Russian top diplomat said.
