Sana'a- Saba:

A meeting held on Monday between the Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Quhaim and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Mohammed al-Mahdi focused on strengthening cooperation in the fields of automation and networking, with the goal of advancing land transport infrastructure in Yemen.

The meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ali al-Makni and officials from the land transport sector, addressed the integration of modern technology into land transport systems.

Discussions centered on utilizing automation tools and technical programs to improve the efficiency and safety of transport networks.

Minister Quhaim emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technologies, particularly the "GPC" tracking system for heavy transport vehicles.

This system aims to enhance public safety by monitoring vehicle loads and ensuring that vehicles comply with regulations regarding weight limits and road safety.

The system also helps maintain the axial balance of freight vehicles, which is crucial for preventing road damage over long distances.

Minister of Communications, Eng. al-Mahdi reiterated his Ministry's commitment to supporting the Ministry of Transport and Public Works by providing all necessary technical services.

He highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to stay ahead of technological developments, ensuring that they can offer advanced services across all sectors of transportation, including land, sea, and air.

Both ministers underscored the critical role of effective networking, data management, and automation in improving the performance of the transport sector, and agreed to continue working closely to enhance Yemen’s infrastructure and technological capabilities in these areas.
