NIAMEY - SABA : The US Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced on Monday, that the United States has completed the withdrawal of personnel and military assets from its bases in Niger.

AFRICOM said in a press statement reported by the Russian Sputnik Agency:

"The US Department of Defense and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Niger announce that the withdrawal of US forces and assets from Niger has been completed."

The statement added that the coordination element of the US Africa Command, consisting of a senior officer and staff, left Niger.
